Lake Arrowhead Rotary Foundation
About the Foundation
Founded in 1994, the Lake Arrowhead Rotary Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation dedicated to enhancing the quality of life in our community through targeted grants. As a California nonprofit, the Foundation is driven by the members of the Rotary Club of Lake Arrowhead and serves as a vital resource for local and international charitable and educational efforts.
Mission & Vision
Our mission is to provide leadership, perpetual funding, and essential resources to support the diverse charitable efforts of the Rotary Club of Lake Arrowhead. We focus on empowering youth and fostering extraordinary accomplishments through the stewardship of a self-sustaining fund.
Our Impact
Locally, the Foundation supports numerous initiatives, such as the Mountain Communities Boys & Girls Club, which engages local children in after school activities across the mountain. Internationally, we contribute to various community projects, reflecting our commitment to making a global impact.
In 2009, our Foundation established the PolaRotary Bear Plunge fundraiser where over $500,000 has been raised so far to support the charities of those brave enough to jump in the lake. The event features a daring plunge into Lake Arrowhead during the brisk February weather, led by community hero and Rotarian, Dr. Patrick Rains.
Key Functions of the Foundation
- Fund Distribution: We receive and allocate community-service funds generated by the Rotary Club for charitable purposes.
- Education: We receive and allocate youth and vocational-service funds to support students from kindergarten through college.
The Foundation is governed by the Board of Trustees, ensuring that our efforts align with the values and goals of the Rotary Club of Lake Arrowhead.
